In other news this week, I've finally finished the edits on Book Three, the as-yet-untitled third book in the London Steampunk series. I promise we shall have a title for that soon – my editor has come up with something that I think is pretty cool. Oh, and the cover art is amazing! I can't wait to share.

The final check of Heart of Iron has been completed, so hopefully we're at printing stage. I can't wait to hold this book in my hand. HOI was hard to write, because of a certain taciturn, brooding hero who wouldn't give up his secrets, but Will and I finally came to a compromise. All I can say is, he is who he is and there's not much that's going to change that. A flirtatious debutante perhaps, but not much else.

Which means… I get to go play with the new WIP! First new words for the year. I'm so excited I feel like it's Christmas.

This is the before photo. I promise they're not all zucchini plants, though it feels like it.

On the home front, it's zucchini season at my house. Beta Hero and I finally got motivated this year and planted a vegetable garden. We bought two punnets of tomato seedlings (about 24 plants as it worked out), only to be told by several friends that they've got two plants at most which keep them well-stocked. Oh dear. They're not quite ripe but I found a tomato sauce recipe the other day just in case.  As for zucchini's, they're the only plant thriving on the crazy hot heat we've been having. I have the feeling you can't actually kill a zucchini plant (and I would be the perfect person to prove this theory). I am running out of ideas. We've had zucchini frittata, muffins, lasagne, fry-ups, zucchini and tomato bake, soup and I am adding it to practically every other dish I cook. Any suggestions on zucchini recipes? Feel free to add the tomato ones too, as I'm certain they're only a week away from ripening enmasse.
